Department Action

The Collin County District Attorney is requesting the court’s approval to move existing funds of $34,000.00 from one budget category to another. This transfer is needed because recent legislative changes as well as emerging issues in law enforcement have triggered the need for increased training across the board. The funds will go towards training on properly complying with prosecutorial duties under Brady and the Michael Morton (discovery) Act, ethics training for newly licensed prosecutors, officer use-of-force cases, new decisions by the U.S. Supreme Court, the Texas Supreme Court, the Court of Criminal Appeals, and crimes against children cases.
