Department Action

The Collin County Information Technology department requests approval for the acceptance of donated equipment from EMC. EMC is one of the equipment manufacturers on the current IT standards list approved by Commissioners Court. By accepting this donation from EMC, the county will be positioned to respond to county storage needs while we develop long term solutions for these upcoming projects.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioner's Court consideration and any action regarding the approval for the acceptance of donated equipment from EMC. EMC is one of the equipment manufacturers on the current IT standards list approved by Commissioners Court. By accepting this donation from EMC, the county will be positioned to respond to county storage needs while we develop long term solutions for these upcoming projects. See attached memo.

Budget Department Action

Donation of equipment to position the county to respond to county storage needs while long term solutions are developed. County will have the option to purchase maintenance once the maintenance included ends July 1, 2019 in the amount of $20,644.13 County also has the option to purchase additional X200 nodes for $29,550.55 each.

This is donated equipment and does not have a cost to the county in this fiscal year. Maintenance is included with the equipment through June 30, 2019. Thereafter, optional maintenance is available to 2021 at an annual cost of $20,644.13 and, if desired, would be requested as part of the maintenance budget for that fiscal year.
