Department Action

The Juvenile Probation Department has requested and been awarded a grant through the Texas Juvenile Justice Department designed to divert youthful offenders who would otherwise be committed to state-operated facilities to alternative placement. The grant award is for $43,920.00 with no county match and will be used to pay for residential and aftercare services. I am requesting these funds be accepted.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners' Court consideration and any action regarding approval and acceptance of Diversion Alternative Plan Grant through the Texas Juvenile Justice Department. Grant purpose is to provide residential and aftercare services for a juvenile offender who is being diverted from TJJD (state) commitment. No County match is required and the grant period is effective August 12, 2016 through August 11, 2017. jd
