Department Action

Information Technology is requesting approval of a contract amendment to the existing Global Tel*Link (GTL) Video Visitation contract. In December, 2014, Commissioner’s Court approved the Jail Video Visitation Replacement project. Information Technology and Sheriff’s Office/Jail are seeking to remove the Attorney/Inmate visitation portion of the contract since the solution provided did not meet Collin County’s expectation of providing a high quality product for the attorneys and inmates to use.

Collin County will now seek a viable replacement for the Attorney/Inmate video visitation solution. Information Technology and Sheriff’s Office/Jail recommends amending the current Global Tel*Link (GTL) Technologies contract to reflect the reduction.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners' Court consideration and any action regarding approval of Contract Amendment #1 to Video Visitation System, RFP No. 2014-259 to Global Tel*Link Corporation (GTL) per the attached amendment; further authorize the Purchasing Agent to finalize and execute same. cw

Contract amendment No. 1 to the Global Tel*Link Video Visitation Contract to remove the Attorney/Inmate visitation portion. Contract to be reduced by $41,880.29 for a new contract total of $339,237.40. Funding for Video Visitation comes from the 2003 Jail Bond Funds (408 & 446).
