Department Action

The Collin County District Attorney will use up to $300.00 of State Forfeiture Funds to pay for an all-day 2017 Texas SFST Refresher Course Training in McKinney on October 11, 2016. SFST stands for Standardized Field Sobriety Tests.

This use of the State Forfeiture Fund is authorized by Texas law. Article 59.06 (d-4) of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure specifically authorizes expenditures for: “(3) prosecution and training-related travel expenses, including payment for hotel rooms, airfare, meals, rental of and fuel for a motor vehicle, and parking; (4) conferences and training expenses, including fees and materials.” These expenditures fit within the plain words of the statute.
