Addition of canine to current liability policy (policy renewal approved on 9/12/2016 AI 42039 in the amount of $420,819.25. Additional canine cost of $481, for a total liability policy cost of $421,300.25)and approve transfer of canine contract to Collin County Fire Marshal's office.

Budget Department Action

Budgeted funds available for the addition of canine costs to the current liability policy. County will be responsible for the canine's care including but not limited to veterinarian care, food, yearly recertification and general care. Re-certification was just completed for 2016 and will need to be completed by November 2017. Estimated cost for re-certification is $1,300 and will be requested as a part of the FY 2018 budget process. Animal care to be provided by the Animal Shelter. County Insurance Fund (501), General Fund (001) and Animal Shelter (507.
