Department Action

Requesting acceptance of TVC 6-month grant extension to June 30, 2017, with an additional $50,000 awarded to the North Texas Regional Veterans Court Program. The grant provides the North Texas Regional Veterans Court with a full-time Program Manager to oversee the program, consumable office supplies, travel for the Judge, and reserve bailiff expenses in two rural counties. Additionally, the grant provides funding for evaluations, counseling/treatment, and alcohol abstinence monitoring or basic living expenses such as medical, transportation, and emergency living, educational, or employment assistance as needed for up to 50 veterans. No county match is required.

Budget Department Action

Amendment to the Texas Veterans Commission Grant. This is a Cost Reimbursement Grant in the amount of $150,000 for the period January 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. The extension extends the grant period until June 30, 2017 and adds an additional $50,000 in state funds. There is no mandated matching funds, but County will be expected to share in the operational costs for funded projects. No additional personnel or equipment necessary.

Original award had been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. This extension extends the grant period until June 30, 2017 and adds an additional $50,000 in state funds with no county match required.
