Department Action

The Collin County Information Technology department is requesting Commissioner Court approval for procurement of equipment and professional services from Dell EMC. This request is to purchase and install an Avamar M600 unit AND migrate existing backup jobs and schedules for the current Data Domain backup. EMC Professional Services is the only authorized vendor to perform this type of migration work.

This request includes a budget amendment to move $25,000 of funds from the Image Storage Network project, account number 001-0619-414.90-50 project code Q06207, to cover this cost. Please note that this project will be offset by $19,267.76 in FY17 maintenance cost that we will not have to spend from the non-departmental maintenance account.

Budget Department Action

Request to purchase and install an Avamar M600 unit and migrate existing backup jobs and schedules for the current Data Domain backup. Budget Adjustment in the amount of $25,000 to be taken from savings from the Image Network Storage Solution Project (Q06207). Maintenance is budgeted in Non Departmental each year and is expected to increase due to the new equipment in FY 2018, but cost increase is unknown at this time. See fiscal impact tab for Budget Adjustment details. General Fund (001).

Auditor's Office Action

Funds available in the General Fund. Budget amendment will be processed upon approval.
