Department Action

The Project includes Design and Construction for a continuation of a 4-lane divided roadway from East of SH 5 to just west of mimosa Drive and widening from 2-lanes to a 4-lane divided from just west of Mimosa Drive to Sherley Lane.

On October 24, 2016, Commissioners court approved an ILA for county participation of $2,000,000. The City has since notified staff that the cost for the project has increased. They would like to amend the original ILA to include the additional funding needed for the increased costs. The City is now projecting the total cost of the project to be $7,500,000. The city is asking for the county to fund 50% or $3,750,000.

The County’s participation would come from the following sources:
- $2,279,880 from the City’s 2007 Bond Project #07-050
- $1,470,120 in reallocated funding from Bond project #07-049, Melissa Rd from Denton St. to SH 121.
TOTAL = $3,750,000

The budget adjustments will include the following:
1) Since we encumbered the $2,000,000 on the original ILA in October 2016, we are only encumbering the remaining $279,880 left in the account in Project Code #07-050.

2) Budget Adjustment in the amount of $1,470,120 from project Code 07-049 to 07-050. Detail in Fiscal Impact Tab.

ACTION:
We request Commissioners Court consider approval of the Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement between Collin County and the City of Melissa for the Design and Construction of Throckmorton Rd from East of SH 5 to Sherley Ln.; 2007 Bond Project #07-050, and authorize Judge Keith Self to sign the ILA. This ILA will supersede and repeal Court Order #2016-812-10-24

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval of the Amended and Restated Interlocal Agreement between Collin County and the City of Melissa concerning the design and construction of Throckmorton Rd from East of SH 5 to Sherley Ln., 2007 Bond Project #07-050; further authorize the County Judge to execute same. md

This ILA will supersede and repeal Court Order #2016-812-10-24. Collin County's participation is a NTE $3,750,000.00.
