Department Action

We request Commissioners Court consider approval of the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Frisco concerning the construction of Legacy Drive from SH 121 to Warren Parkway.

The City estimates the total actual cost to be $10,000,000. The County’s participation in the project would be $4,431,000, reallocated from the City of Frisco’s 2007 Bond project 07-032, Lebanon from City limits to Coit. The City has indicated that they do not need to widen Lebanon at this time and would prefer to use the funds for Legacy now.

The project shall consist of reconstruction and/or widening from four lanes to a six-lane divided concrete roadway. There is a potential that the city will reconstruct to a 4-lane now with the potential to accommodate 6-lanes in the future. Further analysis will determine what the city decides to do but either way, the road will have the ability to be widened to 6-lanes.

The city has started preliminary engineering. They anticipate the construction would start summer 2018.

ACTION
We request Commissioners Court consider approval of the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Frisco for the Construction of Legacy Drive from SH 121 to Warren Parkway; NEW 2007 Bond Project # 07-116 and authorize County Judge Keith Self to sign the agreement.
