The Juvenile Probation Department has requested and been awarded a grant through the Texas Juvenile Justice Department designed to divert youthful offenders who would otherwise be committed to state-operated facilities to alternative placement pursuant to Senate Bill 1630. The grant award is for $29,214.00 with no county match and will used to pay for residential services.
