The Collin County District Attorney will use up to $300.00 from the District Attorney State Forfeiture Fund to provide non-alcoholic refreshments for the conference titled, “Worst Case Scenario: Impaired Driving Crashes from Crash to Courtroom” for police and prosecutors, scheduled Friday, May 19, 2017, in the Central Jury Room of the Collin County Courthouse. This course is specifically designed for investigators and prosecutors handling intoxication manslaughter cases and impaired driving crash cases.

The use of this fund for the above purpose is specifically authorized by Article 59.06(d-4) of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure, which covers an expenditure for “conferences and training expenses.” This expenditure fits within the plain words of the statute.
