Department Action

The Commissioner’s Court approved two positions for jail magistrations. The positions were placed in the Justice Court’s shared budget.

I am requesting those positions moved out of the shared budget and placed into the Justice Court 1’s budget.
Moving these positions into Judge Raleeh’s budget will create a clear chain of command structure for the employees. It will also allow standards as it relates to policy procedures, payroll and pay-for–performance responsibilities.

These positions were filled internally, by individuals who were already above the minimum for pay grade 531.

Budget Department Action

Request is to move the two magistration clerks adopted in the FY 2018 Budget from the Justice of the Peace - Shared department into Justice of the Peace No. 1. Positions were budgeted as new positions with salaries beginning at the minimum of the job grade and they were filled above minimum. Budget Amendment totaling $72,854 is attached to move all funding available for the two magistration clerks, while leaving enough for the Functional Analyst for the remainder of the year. Budget Amendment moves the employees effective January 1, 2018 at the beginning of a new pay period. Salary and benefits are anticipated to be short approximately $13,058 for the two magistration clerks. General Fund (001).

Auditor's Office Action

Funds available in the General Fund. Budget amendment will be processed upon approval.
