The Collin County District Attorney is requesting Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding the approval to apply for the FY 2019 General Victim Assistance Grant from the Office of the Governor Criminal Justice Division to fund salary and benefits for a full-time Victim Assistance Coordinator.  This two-year federal funding of $126,000.00 will be matched by existing personnel time spent on the program in the amount of $31,500.00.  The grant period is October 1, 2018, to September 30, 2020.

FY 2019 General Victim Assistance Grant in the amount of $126,000 in federal funds to fund the salary and benefits of an existing Victim Assistance Coordinator in the District Attorney’s Office for two years. Funding could fall short of covering all salary and benefits for the employee depending on adopted salary increases in both years. In kind match of $31,500 to be met using existing personnel time bringing the program total to $157,500. Grant term is October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2020.
Auditor's Office Action
Grant application has been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. Federal funds in the amount of $126,000 with a required match of $31,500. Match can be in-kind. Grant period is from 10/1/18 through 9/30/20. The grant will fund salary and benefits for full time District Attorney's Crime Victim Assistance Coordinator to provide victim advocacy services for violent crime victims and their families as required by the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 56.
