Department Action

The Juvenile Probation Department has been awarded a grant from the Texas Juvenile Justice Department for the purchase of a validated risk and needs assessment tool for all referred youth. Grant funding will be used to purchase the Noble Assessment Platform for the PACT Pre and PACT Full Screen, MAYSI-II, and PREA assessments, maintenance cost, and for training for departmental staff.

Texas Juvenile Justice Department Grant in the amount of $50,861 in state funds for the purchase of a validated risk-assessment tool for referred youth. Total includes the purchase of the tool as well as first year maintenance and training for staff. There is no county match required and grant term is September 1, 2017 through August 31, 2019. County could be responsible for future maintenance costs and those are unknown at this time.

Grant award has been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached.
