The Juvenile Probation Department has requested and been awarded a grant through the Texas Juvenile Justice Department designed to divert youthful offenders who would otherwise be committed to state-operated facilities to alternative placement. The Grant award is for $59,239.50 with no county match and will be used to pay for residential services for a county youth at Pegasus Schools, Inc.
