Department Action

The Collin County District Attorney requests a budget amendment for the creation of a replacement Felony Investigator position (“Position”) funded solely by federal shared funds (the Federal Forfeiture Special Revenue Fund – more commonly “Shared Funds”). No tax dollars will be used.

Federal guidelines state that Shared Funds may be used to pay the salary and benefits of current law enforcement personnel hired to fill vacancies created when a law enforcement agency assigns personnel to a federal task force. Guide to Equitable Sharing for State, Local, and Tribal Law Enforcement Agencies, Section VB3(3) (issued July 2018). The District Attorney has assigned personnel to a federal task force, and this Position will fill that vacancy.

Funds available in the DA Federal Treasury Forfeiture Fund. Budget amendment will be processed upon approval.
