Department Action

The Collin County District Attorney will donate $2,500.00 from the District Attorney State Forfeiture Fund to benefit Stronger Than Espresso.

This donation is authorized by Texas law. Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Article 59.06(d-2) states in part that “an attorney representing the state may use as an official purpose of the agency … to make a donation to an entity that assists in … the provision of … services for victims or witnesses of criminal offenses or instances of abuse ….”

As a domestic violence victim support agency, Stronger Than Espresso squarely fits within the plain words of the statute.
