Department Action

This is to request authorization to apply for the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) FY2018. SCAAP provides federal payments to states and localities that incurred correctional officer salary costs for incarcerating undocumented criminal aliens with at least one felony or two misdemeanor convictions for violations of state or local law, and incarcerated for at least 4 consecutive days during the reporting period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017. All completed applications must be submitted by 6:00 pm October 29, 2018.

Request Commissioners' Court consideration and any action regarding the approval to apply for the State Criminal Alien Assistance Program (SCAAP) FY 20178 SCAAP provides federal payments to states and localities that incurred correctional officer salary costs for incarcerating undocumented criminal aliens with at least one felony or two misdemeanor convictions for violations of state or local law, and incarcerated for at least 4 consecutive days during the reporting period of July 1, 2016 through June 30, 2017, further authorize the County Judge to finalize and execute same. sh
