Department Action

The Collin County District Attorney will donate $2,395.00 from the District Attorney State Forfeiture Special Revenue Fund (Fund 1037) to benefit the Collin County Council on Family Violence (CCCFV). The CCCFV will use this donation to pay for the printing of Crime Victim Assistance Brochures. These brochures are made available to crime victims by officers responding to domestic violence calls. Police departments also make these brochures available at the station, for victims who visit and make their reports there.

This use of the State Forfeiture Fund is authorized by Texas law. Article 59.06 (d-2) of the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure authorizes donations to an entity that assists in the provision of services for victims of criminal offenses or instances of abuse, or assists in the provision of education related to victims of criminal offenses or instances of abuse. The Crime Victim Assistance Brochure is both a service for victims and an educational tool.
