Department Action

The Collin County Juvenile Probation Department, acting through the Collin County Juvenile Board has entered into an agreement for residential services with Faithful Friend, a chartered organization. Faithful Friend will use highly trained service canines to work with youthful offenders committed to the post-adjudication program. Discernable impact will include improved scholastic scores, reduction in incident reports, and reduced recidivism of participating youth. Trained service canines used in the program will be placed with disabled servicemen and women in Collin County.

Agreement to include a maximum of two (2) canines per year at a total cost not to exceed $4,000 each canine. Contract period is October 1, 2018 through September 1, 2019. 0001-General Fund.
