Department Action
State law requires that each local emergency management program meet certain requirements.  These requirements include maintaining an Emergency Management Plan, conduct required emergency training for staff, develop and conduct an exercise program, and maintain certain emergency facilities and equipment.  Collin County is currently meeting these requirements.
 
The Emergency Management Performance Grant (EMPG) is a program to provide federal funding to the local jurisdictions to develop and carry out emergency management programs.  We are requesting permission from the Commissioners’ Court to apply for this grant.  The deadline for the state submittal is 31 January 2019.
 
Collin County has received this grant for the last eleven years.

Grant includes funding for two (2) Assistant Emergency Management Coordinators as well as training for each. Grant period is October 1, 2018 through September 30, 2019.
Auditor's Office Action
Grant application reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached.  Federal funding to pay a portion of the 2 Emergency Management Coordinators salary and fringe benefits, plus training up to the amount of $106,089.50 with a required match of $106,089.50. Grant period from 10/1/18 through 9/30/19.
