Department Action

The Collin County Sheriff’s Office respectfully requests Commissioner’s Court approval to apply for a grant request through the Justice Assistance Grant (JAG). The grant period is October 1, 2019 to September 30, 2020, with a grant deadline of February 28, 2019. We are requesting $160,000 in grant funding with no county match required. Funding will be used to staff (2) intelligence staff positions to support disruption of drug and drug-related ancillary crimes.

Request Commissioners' Court consideration and any action regarding approval of grant application for the FY2020 Criminal Justice Program from the Office of Governor (OOG), Criminal Justice Division and authorize County Judge to execute resolution. sh

FY 2020 Criminal Justice Program Grant in the amount of $160,000 in federal funds with no required county match. Grant includes 2 new positions as well as computers, training and travel expenses. County could be responsible for maintaining equipment and funding the positions after the conclusion of the grant term. Grant period is October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020.

Grant application has been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. The grant is for Two (2) intelligence staff positions to support disruption of drug and drug-related ancillary crimes, along with computer supplies and travel / training. Grant amount $160,000 with no county match required. Grant period 10/1/19 through 09/30/20. Grant funds for personnel, computers, hardware, and training expenses.
