Department Action

Attached for approval is an Amendment for FY 2020 with Health and Human Services (HHSC) for Women, Infant and Children (WIC) to provide supplemental food benefits, nutrition education and counseling. The program is meant to enhance good health care at no cost to low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children, identified to be at nutritional risk. The WIC services are 100% funded by HHSC. The amendment contract term will be 10/1/2019 thru 09/30/2020, $1,533,214.00 to be allocated for FY 2020.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Collin County Health Care Foundation approval of Amendment No. 4 to Women, Infant and Children's (WIC) Nutrition Local Agency grant, Contract 2017-049828-001, from Health and Human Services Commission and authorize Board President to execute same. sh

Budget Department Action

Amendment to increase the DSHS FY 2020 WIC Grant Contract Renewal in the amount of $41,837 to $1,533,214 in state funds with no county match required. Grant term is October 1, 2019 through September 30, 2020. Budgeted funds available with the elimination of one (1) vacant position. Please see attached spreadsheet for eliminated position. (2108)-HC Grants Fund.

Auditor's Office Action

Original WIC renewal application was reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. Amendment increases the FY 2019 budget by $53,391 and the FY 2020 budget by $41,877. Increase is federal funds with no county match required. Grant period for FY 2019 is 10/1/18 through 9/30/19 and FY 2020 is 10/1/19 through 9/30/20.
