Department Action

This is to request Commissioners’ Court approval for the Closed Point of Dispensing (POD) MOU with Fannie Mae. During a public health emergency, our department may need to dispense medications to the entire county population within a very short time. To do this, we will direct residents to public POD sites located throughout the community. These public locations will be highly stressed, serving nearly 1 million persons within 36-48 hours.

Closed PODs allow corporations, businesses, universities, or other organizations that have signed an agreement with Collin County to administer prophylaxis to their employees, students, and family members. The Closed POD MOU document is a standard template approved by the county’s legal counsel.

Fannie Mae is willing to serve as one of our Closed PODs by entering into an MOU with Collin County. All materials required for POD operations (with exception of the medical countermeasures) will be acquired by Fannie Mae. Our department will offer training for their staff, consultation for their plans and other assistance as listed in the MOU.
