Department Action

This is to request the Commissioners Court’s acceptance of the amendment to the FY 2020 Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) Hazards contract with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).

The amendment to the FY 2020 PHEP grant contract (537-18-0128-00001) increases the original funding amount of $545,327 by $11,997 for a total of $557,324. The amendment is effective 7/1/2019 to 6/30/2020. A 10% match is required for all funds spent and we expect to meet that requirement through in-kind support from existing Collin County staff hours.

The purpose of the PHEP Hazards grant is to support public health emergency activities such as epidemiology and surveillance, public health needs in disaster situations, sheltering in place, pandemic flu response, mass fatality, and Strategic National Stockpile response, to name a few. Program funds will be used towards existing PHEP personnel costs as well as purchasing related program supplies.
