The Collin County Criminal District Attorney requests Commissioners Court approval to apply for the FY 2021 General Victim Assistance Grant from the Office of the Governor, Criminal Justice Division, which funds the salary and benefits of a full-time Victim Assistance Coordinator.  This Victim Assistance Coordinator grant position was initially adopted in the FY 2016 budget and is currently funding a Victim Assistance Coordinator position in my office.    The one-year federal funding of $72,425.10 will be matched by existing personnel time spent on the program in the amount of $25,963.  The grant period is October 1, 2020 to September 30, 2021.

Grant is to fund salary and benefits for full time District Attorney's Crime Victim Assistance Coordinator to provide victim advocacy services for violent crime victims and their families as required by the Texas Code of Criminal Procedure Chapter 56. Grant period is 10/1/2020 through 9/30/2021. Federal funds in the amount of $72,425.10 with a required in-kind match of $25,963.
