This is to request Commissioners Court acceptance for the FY2020 COVID-2019 Crisis CoAg grant contract with the Texas Department of State Health Services (DSHS).
 
The FY2020 award is a new contract (HHS000769800001) for a one-year period from 3/15/2020 to 3/15/2021 in the amount of $669,893.  The purpose of the grant is to support the county’s coronavirus response activities. No match is required from the county for this funding.   
 
The COVID-2019 Crisis CoAg grant contract award will be used primarily towards the salary and fringe benefits of six (6) epidemiologists.  Funds are expected to be spent on purchasing personal protective equipment (PPE) and COVID-2019 testing supplies to support grant activities.  In addition to personnel costs, other program expenses such as mileage and general office supplies are included.

FY 2020 COVID-2019 Grant in the amount of $669,893. No County match required. Grant funds will cover salary and benefits for an additional six (6) Epidemiologist personnel as well as travel, computer equipment and software, PPE equipment, cell phones, MiFi’s and supplies. County could be responsible for the maintenance of equipment after the grant term expires. Grant period is March 15, 2020 through March 15, 2021.
