After reviewing nine (9) Request for Qualifications (RFQ) submittals, BGE, Inc. was determined to be the most qualified firm. On September 23, 2019, Commissioners Court gave staff the approval to start scope and fee negotiations.
To expedite the eastern section of the project that will remain off the TxDOT road system, we have split the project into two phases. The scope of work to be performed for the first phase will determine a feasible alignment for a 6-lane major thoroughfare, with a minimum of 120 feet of ROW at the following locations: (see attached location map)
- Approximately 2 miles, from Bridgefarmer Rd to CR 400
- Approximately 0.7 mile, from 2300 ft east of FM 982/S 2nd Street to Baron Drive
- At intersection with US 380
The Project will include alignment analysis, public/stakeholder involvement, schematic design, minor level of service (LOS) traffic analysis, geotechnical investigations, Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE), Aerial LiDAR/Ortho-Photogrammetry, field surveying, and full ROW mapping. The project will emphasize public involvement throughout the process as we realize the success of the project is dependent on the stakeholders along this corridor. We are poised to introduce virtual public meetings as needed.
The Aerial LiDAR and Ortho-Photogrammetry shall be flown for the entire limits of the corridor (including west of Bridgefarmer Rd to just south of McKinney National Airport) to reduce mobilization costs and delays. For more details on the scope, see attached scope document.
The total cost for this project is $1,394,538.93. Funds are available in the RI18005CO, FM 546/CR400 Project account. The breakdown of the cost is in the attached Exhibit “C” Fee Schedule. Staff has negotiated the scope and fee and is recommending approval.
ACTION:
Approval of the Scope and Fee with BGE, Inc. for Professional Services Engineering for FM 546 from Bridgefarmer Rd in Lowry Crossing, TX to CR 400 in Princeton TX; and from 2,300 feet east of FM 982; and at Intersection with US 380.
