Department Action

The Collin County Sheriff's Office is respectfully requesting the replacement of the Sheriff's Office AFIS System through the countywide Repair/Replace process. The cost to replace this system is $2,175.00.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners' Court consideration and any action regarding the replacement of the Collin County Sheriff's Office, Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) workstation using NEC Corporation of America. Per recommendation from the Department of Public Safety (DPS), any agency currently using the CJIS system has been asked to update to Windows 10 Operating System as Microsoft no longer supports Windows 7 which is currently used on the Collin County AFIS system. Cost of replacement is $2,175.00 which will cover Windows 10 software upgrade and IBW Workstation including desktop computer, installation, travel, shipping and handling.
Once complete, all software and hardware upgraded and replaced will be included in the Collin County AFIS Maintenance agreement with NEC Corporation of America (2020-239).
NEC Corporation of America is the sole source provider for AFIS software and equipment per Court Order 2017-760-09-25. KG

Budget Department Action

Sheriff's Office is requesting an exception to the Budget Control Policy for the replacement of the Automated Fingerprint Identification System (AFIS) workstation due to the end of support for the equipment. Budget is in support of the replacement so the county can maintain connection to the Texas DPS AFIS System and stay in compliance with CJIS Security Policies. Repair and Replace funds available for the replacement. General Fund (0001).
