Department Action

There is a small bridge on CR 696 that is in such bad shape that Public Works has closed the road leading to the bridge. At this time the traffic is low, so it has not been as critical as many other roads. However, TxDOT has identified it in their evaluation process as a bridge they are willing to rebuild. There is a Federal bridge replacement program that provides funds to accomplish this. The County has to be pay 10 percent of the project cost, which in this case is $72,546.58.
Funds are available from the 2007 bond program. To cover this cost we recommend the following budget adjustment:

It is recommended that the Commissioners Court approve the attached resolution and agreement, as well as the budget adjustment to make the funds available.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding 1) approval of an Advanced Funding Agreement for Bridge Replacement or Rehabilitation Off the State System for a bridge located at CR 696 at Brushy Creek. Collin County's participation is 10% of the engineering probable construction costs for a total Collin County contribution of $72,546.58 and 2) approval of a resolution approving the terms of the Advanced Funding Agreement. Further authorize the County Judge to execute same. MD
