Department Action

The plans for the Frontier Pkwy project are basically complete. However, as typically occurs in a project this size and complexity, some changes have occurred during the design process that require adjustments to the design contract. Most of the amendments to the BHC contract have been zero change amendments – just adjusting the various tasks within the contract. Amendment No. 8 includes a variety of additional costs and cost reductions. The additions are mainly for additional design work to move traffic signal facilities that have now been determined to be in the way of the project, some additional work preparing the permit application for the BNSF Railroad crossing, additional work coordinating utilities and additional ROW mapping work. Reductions are mainly savings in the 404 permit preparation and minimal work on asbestos evaluation. The net change is adding $56,036 to the contract.

Just as a reminder, at this point costs for this project as shared equally among the Town of Prosper, the City of Celina and Collin County. We will receive their funds just prior to bid award when we are able to determine actual amounts needed. It is recommended that Amendment No. 8 be approved and a budget adjustment be approved for the action below:

Purchasing Department Action

Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval of Amendment No. 8 with Birkhoff, Hendricks & Carter LLP, AGR. 2016-229, Frontier Parkway Improvements, to make various changes per the attached documentation for an increase of $56,036.00 for a new total contract value of $2,499,718.00. Further, authorize the Purchasing Agent to execute same.MD
