Requesting agreement and acceptance of a new Texas Veterans Commission Mental Health grant for the VALOR Program.

Purchasing Department Action

Request Commissioners Court approval to accept the Mental Health grant for the VALOR program from the Texas Veterans Commission and authorize County Judge to execute same. sh

HR and/or IT Action

Compensation as listed under the grant is higher than is generally paid under our standard hiring process. Compensation and benefits combined under the grant are higher for all individuals than what was paid when they were contract. No funding available for increases in the grant.

Budget Department Action

Acceptance of the 2020-2021 VALOR Mental Health Grant in the amount of $250,000 in state funds with no county match required. There is no required match, but County will be expected to share in the operational costs for funded projects. Grant includes changing contractual positions to regular employees. Funding will cover staff positions, travel, supplies and client services. The grant period is July 1, 2020 through June 30, 2021. (2580)-State Grants Fund.

Auditor's Office Action

Grant award for the Valor program grant in the amount of $250,000 in state funding with no county match required, although the grant budget has been amended. The amended grant budget has been attached. Original application had been reviewed by the grant review committee as per attached. Original application and budget are also attached. The grant period is 7/1/2020 through 6/30/2021.
