Department Action

The Collin County Information Technology department request approval to increase JP2 network pipe from 20MBps to 1GBps. When the building was built they only allowed 20MBps in that area and since that time they now allow 1GBps service. JP2 has been having network issues with slowness and things just not working for them. They are now using Zoom for court and are having issue with the network. The constables are having issues with some of their software applications. In addition, they are having network issues with the added security cameras on this building. This would resolve their network issues.

There would be an increase to the monthly bill of 600.00 each month. The IT Shared account has funding available to cover the service increase.
