Department Action

Beginning in FY 21, WIC contracts will be for a 5 year period and will provide an initial grand total contract amount. A yearly funding letter will breakdown funding amounts for each fiscal year within the 5 year period. Amendments will be made once or twice a year.

Attached for approval is the contract renewal for FY 2021 with Health and Human Services (HHSC) for Women, Infant and Children (WIC) to provide supplemental food benefits, nutrition education and counseling. The program is meant to enhance good health care at no cost to low-income pregnant and postpartum women, infants and children, identified to be at nutritional risk. The WIC services are 100% funded by HHSC.

The renewal contract term will be 10/1/2020 thru 09/30/2025. The total amount of this contract is $$8,925,132.00.
