Department Action

The Collin County Fire and Arson Task Force (CCFATF) was conceived with the intent to assist all fire and arson investigators in Collin County, whose duties include responding to and conducting investigations for accidental and intentionally set fires which are criminal in nature. It is the goal to have consistent and professional investigators whom are task force members representing the County and each municipality within Collin County. These members that are conducting fire and arson investigations will meet National, State and local minimum investigative standards.

Each member of the CCFATF represents their own jurisdiction and maintains command and control at any given incident. Under the task force concept this brings together an array of resources, specialties, experience, and knowledge. Established in 2012, there are currently 12 jurisdictions that are members of the CCFATF.

I respectfully request the Commissioners’ Court to review and approve the attached interlocal agreement with the City of Lucas for participation in the Collin County Fire and Arson Task Force.

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding the approval of Interlocal Agreement 2020-325 between the City of Lucas and Collin County for Fire and Arson Task Force, and further authorize the County Judge to execute same. KG
