Department Action

We are requesting to expand our existing Elastic environment to support security challenges that accompany remote workers due to COVID-19. We intend use Elastic for “end-point” monitoring for all the systems that touch Collin County’s network. We will be able monitor the remote worker’s systems (end-points) for security reporting, intrusion detection and other critical security information. The storage unit is requires to house all of the log data for at least a year so that we can determine trends and anomalies.

We are requesting 18 Elastic annual licenses to be paid by COVID-19 funds until December 2020. We will need Commissioners Court to approve the balance.

Purchasing Department Action

Requesting Commissioners Court consideration and approval of award for Coop Quote 2020-333, Elastic Expansion, through GSA contract GS-35F-0511T per the attached documentation. MRM

Budget Department Action

Award of Coop Quote 2020-333, Elastic Expansion in the amount of $158,589 to support security challenges that accompany remote workers due to COVID-19. Department is requesting funding to come from the CARES Act Fund (2127) through December 30, 2020 and the county fund the remainder of the term from Non Departmental.
