Department Action

The Collin County Sheriff’s Office is notifying the Commissioners Court of a budget amendment for the purpose of using $3,598.00 of federal forfeiture funds for the remainder of FY20.

HR and/or IT Action

Sheriff's Office is requesting an increase to 1 Deputy Sheriff's salary from $63,718.72 to $75,000. In addition, they are requesting to hire 1 new Deputy Sheriff at $75,000 (above the typical 5% above min for prior experience). Both will be assigned to the Federal Task Force for the remainder of FY 2020. The SO would like to utilize $3598.00 of Federal Forfeiture funds to help fund the salaries of 2 deputies working in Professional Standards in place of the two being assigned to the Federal Task Force. To continue the salaries in FY 2021, a new agenda will be needed.

Budget Department Action

Request to increase 1 Deputy Sheriff position's salary and hire 1 new Deputy Sheriff in at $75,000 that has been assigned to the Federal Task Force for the remainder of FY 2020 as well as utilize Federal Forfeiture funds to help fund the salaries of two Professional Standards deputies that will be replacing the two deputies that have been assigned to the Federal Task Force. To continue the salaries in FY 2021 a new agenda will be needed. Budget Amendment attached totaling $3,598 from the Sheriff's Federal Forfeiture Fund (1065).
