Department Action

The Engineering Department requests Commissioners’ Courts authorization to advertise for construction of the southern, future east bound service road for the Collin County Outer Loop (CCOL) from Preston Road east to Custer Road (Approximately 3 miles).

Our engineer estimates that construction will take 15-18 months to complete at an approximate cost of $14,500,000.

If approved, we anticipate a contract will be awarded in December, construction would begin in January with estimated completion in spring of 2022. It should be noted that the first half mile section of roadway east of Preston will be completed and open to traffic by the summer of 2021, in anticipation of Collin County Community College opening for fall classes.
