Collin County Health Care Services (CCHCS) respectfully requests Commissioners’ Court approval of the Abbott Rapid DX COVID-19 Annual Agreement for the purchase of ID NOW Rapid COVID-19 test kits. This agreement would allow CCHCS to place orders for COVID-19 test kits as needed. CCHCS is requesting to purchase an order of 167 ID NOW COVID-19 test kits. The test kits will be supplied throughout the year in quarterly distributions through McKesson, the sole distributer of the ID NOW test kits. As we are entering a high testing season, CCHCS is in need of ID NOW COVID-19 test kits to be able to meet testing requests for county employees and families, Sheriff Officers, and incarcerated adult inmates. This purchase will provide the testing material needed by CCHCS, the Collin County Detention Center, and the Medical Examiner’s office.

Request Commissioners Court consideration and any action regarding approval of (1) award for Cooperative Quote 2021-376, Abbott COVID-19 ID-NOW Test Kits, through Sourcewell contract 061417-MML to McKesson Medical-Surgical Government Solutions LLC, in the amount of $164,328; and (2) the agreement with Alere Inc., DBA: Abbott Rapid DX North America through September 30, 2022 and authorize Purchasing Agent to execute same. Budgeted grant funds in the amount of $33,462 is available from the DSHS Covid-19 Supplemental.
