Information

Department Action

The Sheriff's Office is respectfully requesting approval for CARES Act Funds to purchase MDC's and equipment for remote work in the amount of $355,268.90. This will enable 19 Deputies to work remotely and directly support the Sheriff's Office in response to COVID-19.

Purchasing Department Action

No action by Purchasing at this time. If approved, purchasing policies and procedures will apply. MDC, etc. purchase will require Commissioners Court approval once quotes have been finalized per Court order 2020-426-05-18 utilizing CARES ACT funding.

HR and/or IT Action

Budget Department Action

Department requesting $355,368.90 in CARES Act funding for the purchase of 19 MDCs, 4 laptops and 5 MiFis. Department’s hardware was refreshed February-June of 2020 (see attached). Budget department does not recommend the use of CARES Act funding for this request.

Auditor's Office Action

The purchase of a second computer is not justified to fit within the guidelines of the Cares Act funding as laptops were just purchased during the County's refresh period.
