The Collin County District Attorney will use up to $40,000 from the District Attorney Federal Forfeiture Special Revenue Fund (Fund 60, the “Fund”) for 2017 training-related expenses.
This use of the Fund for these purposes is specifically authorized by the Department of Treasury’s Guide to Equitable Sharing for Foreign Countries and Federal, State, and Local Law Enforcement Agencies. Specifically, this Guide “pre-approve[s]” expenses for law enforcement training. “The training of investigators, prosecutors, and law enforcement support personnel in any area necessary to perform official law enforcement duties.” (Page 20) This includes expenses related to attending a training conference.
