The City of Lucas was awarded 2018 Bond funds, CO# 2020-231-03-16 for the reconstruction of the existing 3-lane asphalt roadway to a 4-lane divided concrete urban roadway from FM 1378/Country Club Road to FM 2551/Angel Parkway. The attached ILA will provide to the city for the project a total, not to exceed, of $8,365,180.00. The Interlocal also grants the County the permission to acquire the Right of Way (ROW) for the City. The concept of this was discussed and approved by the court on July 13, 2020, CO# 2020-640-07-13. The county will acquire ROW or easements to protect the width of 120’ in connection with the full length of the project. The City will provide all survey parcel documents and any drainage or slope easements required and will set monuments on all corners and points of intersection. The ILA stipulates that, in the 2018 bond award, an amount will set aside to be used for the County for ROW acquisition and any other costs necessary for the acquisition, such as appraisals, legal expenses, title, etc. The estimate for that is $826,000. Article IV provides for what happens if more or less is needed. Action: Approval of the Interlocal Agreement with the City of Lucas concerning the 2018 Bond Project, West Lucas Road from FM 1378/Country club Rd. to FM 2551/Angel Parkway; RI18007.

The infrastructure entered into a 2-year maintenance period on October 2, 2018. The maintenance period is complete and the owner has completed the required repairs as requested by County Engineering and Public Works staff.
